Acquisition of the operation of Betec-Engineering, specialists in the development and distribution of Bluewave active harmonic filters

(Luterbach, January 5, 2009) On January 1, 2009, the Schaffner Group (SIX Swiss Exchange: SAHN) took over employees, technology and assets of the German Betec-Engineering (www.bluewavepower.net). The company, which specializes in the development and distribution of Bluewave™ active harmonic filters, posted sales of approximately EUR 2 million in fiscal 2008, and has a staff headcount of around 10.
